Here's Why Nature Should Be a Part of Your Routine
By Genevieve Cunningham
Nature is a part of life. In our modern world, it's less a part of life than it's ever been in the history of mankind. We've successfully separated ourselves from nature in so many ways. But is this really a good thing? Or is this separation actually harming our health? If you want to live your best, healthiest, and happiest life, take a look at these reasons to add a little bit of nature back into your life and routine starting today.
The Sun
We're told to stay away from the sun. To almost fear it. But we actually need a little bit of sun in our lives. The sun is where we get the majority of our Vitamin D -- a vitamin that is absolutely essential to long-term good health. And access to the sun also severely affects our moods. Get in the sun a little bit every day to boost your health from the inside out and to keep your mental health and moods on track.
The Air
Fresh air is so good. When we get out in nature, we are allowed to breathe in fresh air. Air that's not contaminated with fresheners, cleaners, or any other man-made pollution. Fresh air is good for the lungs, good for the brain, and good for the soul. If you're not making time to get some fresh air every day, start this little habit and watch your moods drastically improve.
The Calming Effect
Nature is calming. It's been proven over and over again that people who spend time in nature every day tend to feel more calm and peaceful. They tend to suffer from less stress. Nature has a way of taking our worries and shoving them aside for a while. If you're constantly under stress, getting in nature might help you lower that stress and feel more at ease both while you're in nature and when you get back to real life too.
If you're not spending any time in nature, you should really consider adding this little habit to your life. It's small, but it's powerful. Even a few minutes per day can change your perspective, your health, your mood, and your entire life. Make nature an important part of your day, and you'll reap benefits you never knew possible.
