4 Reasons Why You Need to Make More Time for Fitness
By Brandi Swieter
Too many people skip exercise because they say they don’t have the time. In reality, people are just making time for other things, such as bingeing on TV and hitting up new hot spots in town with friends. Everyone who isn’t currently doing so needs to start making more time for fitness in their lives if they want to get on the right track with their health. There’s time for everything if people move their schedules around and fit fitness into it at least occasionally.
Reduced Risk of Heart Disease
Exercise is healthy for the body. Aerobic exercise in particular is especially ideal, as it keeps the heart beating and blood flowing. People really bust a sweat when they’re doing aerobics and breathing heavy. Getting the blood pumping like this drastically improves heart health, reducing the risk of heart disease. Stroke and diabetes risk is reduced as well.
Building Endurance
Those who do not get exercise often have a low endurance level. They can’t work out long without getting winded and out of breath, unable to continue. The more fitness time a person gets, the better endurance they’ll have. They can start to work out for longer periods without having to stop. It’s best to start out slow and work your way up to a higher amount of repetitions to get the best results.
Better Balance and Flexibility
Certain exercises, including yoga, help to improve balance and flexibility. Those who are barely flexible and find it difficult to bend and move with ease can benefit from increased fitness time. Improving balance is a great benefit as well, as it ensures people are better able to handle daily tasks without such a high risk of falling. Posture will be improved and an overall sense of well-being can be achieved.
Maintaining Weight
People with no time for fitness often see their weight increase. They are remaining seated most of their lives, rarely getting up to put in the exercise. Regular fitness helps people maintain their weight and keep off any excess that they’d normally accumulate just sitting around.
Fitness is important for everyone, so more people need to make more time for it in their lives. With several benefits to exercise, it’s a necessary part of life that every individual should incorporate into their routines. Start out slow and simply add 10 ot 20 minutes per day to get started, and add more time as you’re able.
